1/10/2023 0 Comments Ticonderoga police blotter![]() If you were in a commercial vehicle and were issued a ticket for a violation of the New York State Transportation Law section 14-f 1NYCRR, Part 507 or Section 140-2d(ii) 17NYCRR, Part 820 the charge will be dismissed if proof is presented to the court that the defect was corrected prior to 1/2 hour after sunset on the first full business day, or if such complaint involves a farm vehicle registered persuant to Vehicle and Traffic Law Section 401 Sub 13 and operated in conformance with the terms of such registration, not later than 1/2 hour after sunset on the third business day after issuance of the ticket and proof of such correction is submitted to the court on or before the return date on the ticket. If you were ticketed for a violation of one or more of these sections a Statement of Correction for Equipment Defect (fix-it ticket) should have been issued to you with the ticket. If you were in a passenger vehicle and were issued a ticket for a violation of sections 375, 376 or 381 of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law the charge will be dismissed if proof is presented to the court that the defect was corrected prior to 1/2 hour after sunset on the first full business day after issuance of the ticket. After you submit your not guilty plea to the Court, you will receive a notice in return from the court listing your Trial Date and Time. When Section "B" is complete send the completed Ticket to the Court listed on the front. It is suggested you mail it to the court Registered or Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested, or by First Class Mail. ( Click Here to see a sample Supporting deposition) If you did not receive the supporting deposition with the ticket and you would like to receive one, check "Yes" and a Supporting Deposition will be mailed to you by the Officer before your court date. If you did receive the supporting deposition with the ticket and you do not want one, check "No" and no action will be taken. Complete the remainder of Section "B" entering your mailing address and signature. It re-iterates the circumstances under which you were issued the ticket and the Officer's observations at the time of the violation. Check the paperwork the officer gave you when he handed you your ticket, a supporting deposition may have been given to you on the roadside. Check the "Yes or No" box Under the Supporting Deposition Request. A Supporting Deposition is a form completed by the Officer who issued you the ticket.
